The source is at sw1 and 2 wire cable runs from there to the fixtures. The threaded socket is the neutral.

Yes there are a fewread very very very few switches that dont require a neutral but those will limit you to incandescent only. Wiring a light switch is very simple. Call in an electrician and get him to run a neutral wire running from the light fixture to the switch.
