This is a result of issues surrounding the meter power source sharing a common ground with the input. They all have a bit different wire colors.

Also in my particular case i have a narva 6 post fuse block and use one of those posts to get power for the voltmeter rather than hooking it straight up to the post of the battery. If the meter is wired so that the power source shares ground with the input the meter will be damaged beyond repair. Can i just use the two wires from my amp gauge to hook up to my new volt meter gauge. Easy to read led amp meter displays accurate amperage draw for quick reference. Due to the meters design it is not possible for the meter power source to share ground with the input. In practice in my camper trailers case i have not bothered with the amp meter as i dont believe they are really necessary to have.
Now i have included three most common variants of them. 0520 amp mounting opening 29mm dia. The voltmeter will cause a slight draw on the battery so i would recommend using a wire that is hot with the key in the on position. The original article included only one variant of these digital volt and ammeters. Can be installed with or without the mounting panel. If you order digital 100v10a volt and ammeter gauge from china or other markets its most likely one of the following.
